Chapter Four: Issue 12 – Page 12

This week we joke about the flirty character trope and how it gets viewed by the other players. I wanted to make a statement about social acceptance without crossing a line and I hope that was conveyed in a humorous manner.
Yeah, the truth is it’s always uncomfortable being around two people flirting unless alcohol is involved. The facts that it is two guys playing two girls, one of whom is the gm and they’re apparently just doing it for the sake of an imaginary relationship for the emotional benefit of the fictional characters involved is just extra information that confuses the actual issue. The flirting is fake but it is real enough that it is triggering the “let’s leave these two alone” awkward reaction. I find Annora’s statement a bit accusatory and rude but totally in character after throwing Jim through a window in game. As a matter of fact she’s actually my favorite character as her player seems to be going through a character arc. Hasn’t made much headway yet but has made some. I eagerly await further growth.
A delicate touch, not overbearing or accusatory…
The way the subject should be approached, if it’s even necessary to approach it.
All things and all people being equal means ALL, not just the ones you like.
I unsubscribed from one recently for going on a tirade against “cis white men” in the author’s notes.
Practicing the exact opposite of what you’re preaching is far worse than anything you’re preaching against.
Nice touch, interesting story and art, keep it up and keep people thinking.
I remember back in the early days of the internet seeing a bumper sticker that read “I support gay marriage only if both chicks are hot.”
I think that sums up a lot of people’s true feelings right there.
Nice touch with the “sips some tea” imagery.
